presentation

Verdi has many powerful features for the simple management of Websites, Extranets & Intranets.

The separation of content from display provides significant advantages in comparison with standard website. Content may be re-used and displayed at multiple locations across the company's Internet, Intranet and Extranet sites.

To change the appearance of the whole or part of a site as part of re-branding exercises, or company / departmental mergers and de-mergers requires no changes to site content.

Site presentation is controlled through a combination of graphic themes and skins combined with page templates.

graphic skins

A graphic skin is a 'veneer' which holds company name, logo and associated page graphics. Changing the graphic design of the whole site generally requires only changing this graphical 'veneer' and requires no changes to site content.

graphic themes

Graphic themes are based upon Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) which are a simple mechanism for adding style (e.g. fonts, colors, spacing) to Web documents. The application of graphic themes ensures consistent presentation of content across the site, an important feature when there are multiple content administrators. Different site areas may also be 'themed' using different style sheets to provide distinctive identities for different departments or services.

page templates

Page layout is controlled through a hierarchy of templates, with each template comprising an interchangeable header, footer and Container Page template. The header and footer generally comprise the graphic skin and navigation, while the Container Page Template, which divides the page into variable grid structures, which control the placement of content and applications (modules) on the page.
