Verdi provides sophisticated solutions for controlling access to both administration functionality and to public areas of Internet, Intranet and Extranet implementations.
The distributed publishing environment within Verdi provides for multiple administrator roles, with an approval workflow ensuring that all published content follows established procedures. Content Editor and Publisher administrator roles have a simple administration interface and are allocated permissions ranging from site wide access, to single page access. Content Administrators may be granted access to the whole of the system Content Pool, or be provided with access to only restricted areas.
The available combinations of roles, permissions and Content Pool access allows flexible configuration to meet diverse requirements.
Permissions to content (administrative and public) can be set to user groups and/or individual users. In addition to the inbuilt Verdi authentication database, the system can interface to Active Directory or LDAP servers, allowing organizations to centrally manage users and user groups and providing a single point for authentication through their established directory services.
The access controls available may be summed up as 'Who You Are Is What You See', meaning that users see only menus and content permitted by their individual access privileges.
